The town of Coroico is the most visited tourist place in the Yungas and is located on a small plateau on the Uchumachi hill, flanked by the Coroico, Santa Bárbara and Vagantes rivers. It brings together social groups of different origins such as Aymaras, Afro-Bolivians and mestizos. The vegetation is varied and abundant, with large coffee, coca and citrus plantations. Wide variety of birds (parrots, pigeons, partridges, uchis) and mammals (mountain pig, monkeys, deer) etc.
